Sterilization refers to the process that eliminates or kills all forms of life and or biological agents. This process is extremely important in medicine to remove the possibility of cross contamination. The guidelines have been developed over history with safety in mind. All of our surgical instruments at Naperville Oral Surgery go through several protocols to ensure absolute sterility. Theses steps exceed the standards currently required by law to ensure your safety. Our hospital grade Surgical Washer Disinfector is designed for cleaning and initial disinfection of surgical instruments prior to the sterilization process. This initial step is rarely implemented by non-hospital practices. Our surgical washer disinfector follows the latest guidelines of AAMI ST 79 and IAHCSMM recommendations.
The next step in the process is complete sterilization. This process uses steam and intense heat (170-200F) which eliminates bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores. This process is verified regularly on site to ensure proper operation and your safety.
At Naperville Oral Surgery every phase of your care is of paramount importance. To this end we have invested extra time and financial resources to provide a technologically advanced system for the sterilization process.
