Initial Visit

The initial appointment will consist of a consultation.  During the consultation Dr. Foxson will review all relevant information.  Dr. Foxson will then thoroughly explain your diagnosis, review treatment options, and answer all questions.  Our staff will then review your treatment plan and schedule the procedure.  Frequently, surgery can be performed on the same day as the consultation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan may require a consultation first and a second appointment to provide treatment on another day.

Please assist Naperville Oral Surgery and bring the following to your consultation:

  • Referral form from your General Dentist or other Dental Specialist
  • X-rays, CT scans on CD
  • A list of current medications
  • Medical and/or dental insurance information, picture ID (driver’s license)
  • Initial forms can be completed online to save time (Online registration)

If surgery is planned for the same day as the consultation with IV sedation, nothing to eat or drink eight hours prior to your surgery. You will also need an adult you know and trust to drive you home.

Please inform the office staff if you have any medical conditions that may be of concern prior to surgery such as diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc. Additionally, please inform the staff if you are currently taking any medication (i.e., heart medications, blood thinners, immunosuppressants, medicines for osteoporosis or cancer, etc.).

If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office. If any additional imaging is necessary, we can take them at Naperville Oral Surgery.

IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all appointments.
